You have got to be kidding, is the name of this blog because this was the nicest, most polite way to express my thoughts on what I see going on in this country.
I have had friends who are very liberal try to explain to me why we should be taxed more because we make too much money.
These same friends have also tried to convince me that the war in Iraq is a war for "oil" (tell me that as I’m pumping four bucks a gallon) or "Bush’s War" or a waste, as my friends who have fought and still fight for something as silly and as archaic as democracy believe.
These same people who believe that we can predict what the weather is going to be fifty years from now, yet, the weatherman is STILL wrong on next weekends forecast.
I actually have relatives that believe that socializing healthcare is the right thing for this country, just as long as they don’t have to wait four months for a cancer biopsy.
I have written in other posts that Obama might have the charisma of a JFK but has Rosie O’Donnel writing his policies, but people still think that this would be better than the republican nominee.
I’m writing from a viewpoint that might be considered extremist, outlandish, outrageous, but when I was growing up was actually considered common sense.
I grew up in Europe at a time where it was flooded with Iranian refugees from the new Ayotolas’ regime. I had many friends from that country and learned quite a bit. So when I say that President Bush has more guts than any leader I ever knew (except maybe Reagan) to take on, not only middle east terrorists but to change the mind set in a middle east nation is not only the bravest thing I have ever seen but the most daring and probably the biggest change that will affect world politics in the years to come, well, all I have to say is that this is probably the biggest change to affect that region of the world since the Crusades.
Those are just a few of the things that I believe. I welcome discussion, dissent, any other issues.
Thank you,
Mike Russell
